Sue Bleyaert has been making floorcloths since 1989. She has explored many
mediums, but floorcloths gave her the opportunity to create a product that is decorative and functional. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Eastern
Michigan University
Sue has participated in many shows and exhibits throughout the US. She received the "Best of Show" award in the National Floorcloths Exhibition in Winstom-Salem, North Carolina and is featured in "The Complete Book of Floorcloths".
Sue believes in collaborating with her customers to create a work of art that is both functional and complementary to their home. She offers a variety of beautiful and imaginative floorcloths and other painted canvas artwork.
Her artform has expanded to include the following volume of work:
• Traditional Floor Cloths
• Placemats & Coasters
• "Map of Northern Michigan" Giclee Prints
• "Map of Northern Michigan" Note Cards
• Artistic Baskets
Each piece of work created is unique. Creative Canvas floor cloth prices are based on the intricacy of the work and size, typically ranging in price from $25 to $60 per square foot. If you would like an estimate for a project, please contact her. (here)
Sue uses the profits from Creative Canvas to travel with SAME (South African Medical Expeditions). SAME is a registered international nonprofit organization founded in 2002 focusing on the needs of Orphans and Vulerable children affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis in South Africa. http://www.sameonline.org/
